Rabi Crops Sowing Crosses 81 Lakhs Hectare

New Delhi: Rabi crops sowing have crossed 81 lakhs hectare in this year as per preliminary reports from the states. The total area sown under the rabi crops stands at 81.55 lakh hectares till Saturday in the comparison to last year’s 88.92 lakh hectares.

Wheat has been sown/transplanted in 4.28 lakh hectares, rice in 9.51 lakh hectares, pulses in 24.16 lakh hectares, coarse cereals in 13.84 lakh hectares and area sown under oilseeds in 29.79 lakh hectares.
