ICAR Regional Committee Meeting at Pantnagar

UTTARAKHAND: The State Level Joint Meeting of ICAR Regional Committee No.I for Uttarakhand was held on Wednesday at Govind Ballabh Pant University for Agriculture & Technology (GBPUAT), Pantnagar. The meeting was inaugurated by the Chairman, Dr. Mangala Rai, Vice Chancellor, GBPUAT, Pantnagar. He informed that the University has prepared plan for kharif season and emphasized on need and importance for production of seeds of minor millets like ragi and pulses like pigeonpea and short duration cowpea.

The Action Taken Report on Action Points/Recommendations of XXIII Regional Committee Meeting was presented by Dr. P.K. Mishra, Director, ICAR-IISWC & Member Secretary ICAR Regional Committee No. I. Dr. P.K. Mishra also briefed the house about the State Level Joint Meeting of ICAR Regional Committee No. I held for Himachal Pradesh at CSKHPKV, Palampur on 22nd May, 2015. He also summarized the day long deliberations of the meeting. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. J.P. Singh, Director Research, GBPUAT, Pantnagar.

 The meeting was attended by Directors and Heads/Officers-in-Charge of Headquarters/Regional Stations of ICAR Institutes, Directors of Research, Extension, and Education of the two State Agricultural Universities i.e. GBPUAT and Uttarakhand University of Horticulture & Forestry (UUHF), Bharsar, and Directors of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries of Uttarakhand State.
