Workshop on Weed Management held at Jabalpur

JABALPUR: The ICAR-Directorate of Weed Research, Jabalpur and the Zonal Project Directorate, Zone VII, Jabalpur jointly organized a Training-cum-Workshop on Weed Management  for the scientists of Krishi Vigyan Kendras from Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Odisha.

The inaugural programme was chaired by Dr. A.R. Sharma, Director, DWR. In his  introductory remarks Dr. Sharma gave an overview of the Directorate’s activities for strengthening weed management through on farm research and organizing training/awareness programmes.

Dr. P. K. Singh, Principal scientist explained the importance of weed management in the present situation of labour scarcity.  Dr.A P Diwedi, of Zonal Project Directorate, Zone VII explained the strength and opportunity of KVKs to disseminate technologies on weed management among farmers.

From all the KVKs 40 scientists actively attended this workshop
