Indian food firms take part in Golffood expo in Dubai

About 270 Indian food companies and trade associations participate in Golffood exhibition in Dubai. It is scheduled to be held from 8-12 February.

In one the largest such gatherings, besides the Indian companies and trade associations, government organisations participate in the exhibition.

Major Indian brands showcasing their products at the expo are Allanasons, Amir Bonn, Cremica, Dukes, India Gate, Parle, Priyagold, MTR, Mothers Recipe, Ramdev and Rasna among others.

The major government enterprises expected to take part in the expo are the Agriculture and Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), Cashew Export Promotion Council, Coffee Board of India, Indian Oilseed & Produce Export Promotion Council and the Tea Board of India.

The assortment of products and services that would be available at the expo range from agro commodities, biscuits, frozen meat, cashew, coffee, fruit beverages, oilseeds, processed food, ready to eat foods, rice, spices, tea among others.

The Indian food sector was valued at $157 billion in 2012 and is expected to reach $258 billion by 2015.

Gulfood is the world’s largest annual food, beverage and hospitality trade show. The 2014 edition witnessed more than 4,500 companies from 120 countries, 81,622 trade visitors from 172 countries, as well as more than 300 Government ministries, top-level officials and international industry leaders.
