Mangaluru: S.R.Satishchandra, President and the Board of Management of Central Arecanut and Cocoa Marketing and Processing Cooperative (Campco) Ltd has hailed the implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST) from 1st July, 2017. The launch of GST is being called the biggest tax reform since Independence.
“GST will become one of the biggest fiscal reforms that our country has witnessed. Due to this paradigm shift, the business sector will have a tremendous impact”, Campco President said in a press release.
Stating that GST will boost the agri cooperative sector in the country, Satishchandra said simplified taxation system and digitisation have the potential of ensuring better business. The rollout of GST would benefit farmers eventually as there will be a unified national agriculture market. It will also ensure that farmers sell their produce at the best available price.
